We have Facebook groups for it. No, you can't post it
'for sale' or anything, but you can post pictures, then
    people can private message you.

Thanks for your reply - Unfortunately I don't use FB. I had issues and
deleted my account long ago. But thats a good idea to start with maybe
some other 'groups'. I wasn't thinking and will check with the state
and reply back to let you know what I find out.

Might be some people around - at the range, etc. - that would,
if it's legal to sell to them, give you cash and a good price
and you'd be done with ti!

Where are you located? And what do you have? :-)

I'm in PA, and I have a Beretta .22 Neos 4.5 Inox with a carbine kit.

Yeah, transfers within NYS are miserable. Not sure what needs to be
done for out of state. I know it'd have to go to an FFL out here, I'd have to fill out the 4473 and then I'm out the door as I have a CCP and don't have to wait for a background check. For departure from the
state I'm guessing it'd involve you taking the arm to an FFL, filling
out what paperwork they have and then providing them with the FFL info
    at this end.

I'm in Tennessee. I can sell to someone else, or buy from someone
else, with no FFL involved. The only encumbrance is if I KNOW
they are not allowed to legally own it (minor, felon, etc.).

For out of state, a handgun has to go to an FFL for them to pick
up, and the same if I buy one from out of state. Not sure about
    a long gun...

As for in state from a dealer, we have TICS - Tennessee Instant
Check System. For a $10 fee, you fill out a form 4473 (I think
it is - don't quote me) and the dealer either calls it into
Nashville or they submit it electronically. You USUALLY get
a response in MINUTES, then you make the purchase and carry
    it home with you!

That's a good suggestion. I normally don't go to the range, I live in a
rural area and have a mountain backstop. But I have some friends who
belong to a gun club and that would be a great place to start.

Thanks for the input. Have a great day!

Here in Wyoming it's somewhat similar. I have a Wyoming concealed carry permit (which isn't required for concealed carry in the state, but it DOES provide reciprocal privileges with other states). With the WY CCP if I purchase a firearm (long gun or hand gun) from a FFL in state I fill out the 4473 and I'm out the door. Don't need to wait for the NICS check to be called in. Makes things VERY convenient!

I've heard of states doing that, and with me having a CCW might be
why if I buy something it's VERY instant, where others might wait
a bit... They already done the background check on me and I'm in
    the system. :-)
